I am grateful for the joy in my life

abundance

Not what we have But what we enjoy, constitutes our abundance. — Epicurus

I don’t know what took me so long to realize how wealthy I truly was, when I look around at all the things that bring me joy, I am truly grateful for the joy I have in my life.

A poor man looks into his wallet, or his bank account to determine his worth, but a rich man beyond measure, looks to others signs, to determine his wealth.

If I were to say that I had absolutely no worries in life, I would be lying to you.  But the truth is, that the joy I feel overshadows all of that.  I am finding joy in so many little things, and the amazing fact is, the more joy I find, the more joy I attract into my life.

Personal responsibility.  That is it in a nutshell.  You make thousands of choices every day, from as simple as picking which number two pencil you will use from your drawer, to whether or not you’re pulling the plug on Aunt Bertha, because it is her time to go.  But more importantly.  You make a choice on how to react to all of these events, you make a choice on which perspective you choose to view them with.  You make a choice on whether or not you will be happy or sad

Take some time, take a look around you.  Past the overdue bills, past that husband that treats you with disrespect, past that dead end job, and find your joy.

Hi Cary…I stumbled upon your blogs while browsing one day and I’ve been reading your gratitude posts for over a week now and since reading the first one, I haven’t been able to stop. I have read your blogs everyday for the past week and have went back and read your archived blogs also…or at least as many as I could. I just want you to know that just in this past week, my WHOLE perspective has started changing. I had a HUGE slap in the face moment while reading the “personal responsibility” blog and since then I have conciously been improving myself inside and out. Before, I always walked around with my head down, hating my life and wishing it away….and even though I have still had a few down moments in the past week, it has still been the best week I have had in a LONG time. I even started a written gratitude journal myself. So, I just wanted you to know, I know that other people have gratitude blogs, but your words speak volumes to me. I owe my current rise in happiness to you and your inspiring joy of life. Thank you.

    Hi Jennifer,
thank you for such kind comments.
I am glad you found some inspiration in my gratitude posts, and are now focusing on finding your gratitude.
It is easy to lose sight of how much we truly have in this world, and I am so grateful that the Universe, God has now brought another person into my life to remind me of how wealthy we all are.
That huge slap you speak of, I felt it too. Now prepare for the huge rush that you will get, when you find how empowering it is when you now control your own happiness.
Have a great day, and please stay in touch.
